Description
Round Hill’s 36-room hotel, The Pineapple House is set at the edge of the sea. Ralph Lauren recently designed the airy and spacious interiors in crisp white accented with bright pillows and throws, four-poster beds, and chaises lounges. There are also 27 two to five bedroom private villas dotted around the tropical gardens.
The villas are ideal for families, many with pools and are spacious and airy. Decorated in an elegant plantation style they are equipped with wicker, mahogany or bamboo furniture, oversized sofas and wooden or tiled floors. Bedrooms are air conditioned and living rooms convey a very light, Caribbean feel. Villas are nestled in the hillside, facing west, and enjoy fabulous sunsets and coastal views.
Round Hill boasts five all-weather courts (two are floodlit) and a resident pro, a fully-equipped fitness center with a personal instructor for exercise classes and golf can be arranged at the championship course just a few minutes away. Other facilities include a double infinity edge pool, beach bar, cocktail bar and Seaside Terrace Restaurant serving local specialities. The hotel also has excellent water sports facilities and a Wellness Spa.

When to travel
Jamaica is a year-round destination, though there are seasonal differences to consider. Weather-wise, temperature isn’t an important factor: winter is usually warm by day and mild to cool by night, and summer months are hot. The rainy season extends from May to November, with peaks in May, June, October and November. Rain usually falls for short periods (normally in the late afternoon), and it’s quite possible to enjoy sunshine for most of your visit during these months. However, note that in Portland parish, it can rain for days on end.
Tourism’s high, or ‘winter, ’ season runs from early-December to mid-April.
