About me
Having always enjoyed travelling to far-flung places, albeit in somewhat more rustic surroundings, I started working in travel for a niche operator during my placement year at university. Since 2002 I’ve been working in the luxury sector specialising in Arabia and the Indian Ocean, particularly concentrating on Sri Lanka and The Maldives which allows me to indulge my one of my favourite passions - diving (second only to skiing), in some of the most spectacular underwater environments the world has to offer. I prefer small hotels with character – and a good cocktail list.

Travel nuggets
01. Jungle Formula Tropical Strength – don’t leave the country without it unless you’re going to the Maldives where they fog the islands and you can be guaranteed a bite free holiday – bliss!
02. Head to the Ari Atoll in The Maldives in the hope of swimming with whale sharks, a totally unforgettable experience.
03. Book more nights than you might think in the tea country in Sri Lanka, people always complain they did not have enough time here.

01. Constance Halaveli – while it’s on the larger side of the properties in The Maldives, they have recently taken me swimming with whale sharks and their water villas are some of the best in The Maldives.
02. Ksar Char Bagh – for a long weekend or as part of an itinerary, this boutique property is situated in the tranquil Palmerie, ideal for retreating to after a day haggling in the souks or Marrakech.
03. Amangalla – I’m rather in love with the colonial era and staying here always feels like stepping back in time, I’m always sorry I can’t stay longer!
