About me

My passion began when I was able to travel to different destinations around the world. But since living in Central Europe, I have found a love for places nearer to home including the mountains, especially places that are off the beaten track.

I like nothing more than a Vin Chaud at the end of a day’s skiing with fantastic views of the mountains. My favourite ski resort is Courchevel as it is ideal for families and is real hero skiing for all ages.

I always like finding new places that I haven’t been; I have recently just come back from exploring the USA and Canada; where I found some beautiful hotels in amazing ski resorts. I realised that although Europe skiing will always have a place in my heart, skiing in North America is simply a different ball-game. I loved Vail because it was such a large ski area, Beaver Creek is so family orientated, it is perfect for beginners and those wanting a relaxing ski holiday. Aspen is a beautiful, historical town and I have never experienced better snow than when I visited Whistler.

Favourite places I’ve been

The Alps – sun, snow, mountains, tartiflette and wine
Vail – so family friendly but with some really advanced skiing as well
Australia – Uluru, hot, active
Jamaica – everything is great from the people to the food
St. Lucia – quiet, happy, relaxing
Italy – olives, sun, plenty to do but also relaxing
South Africa – captivating
Grand Canyon – scary but mesmerizing

Travel nuggets

01. If you go to Val d’Isere make sure you head to La Folie Douce, which is above La Daille serving excellent food and then a great dance après scene from 3pm.

02. If you need ski lessons or childcare, make sure you book well in advance; there is nothing worse than getting to resort and realising you are without an instructor.

03. On long plane journeys always pack a moisturiser to keep you refreshed, it will always make your destination a little bit better if you feel more awake.

Hot picks

Hotel Kristiania, Lech – A quirky boutique hotel just a few minutes from the centre of resort. Definitely try the food served here, it’s superb.

Daios Cove, Crete – A 5* private hotel in its own cove, great for young families and excellent restaurants.

Park Hyatt, Beaver Creek – A beautiful hotel with a sense of grandeur, an excellent location on the slopes and is completely orientated around families
