Hotel Maiensee, named after a local lake, is an extremely welcoming and traditional, boutique family run hotel. The Traxl family and their attentive staff pride themselves on making sure your stay with them is as comfortable as possible, with delicious food, roaring log fires and cosy surroundings.
The location of the hotel is one of its most appealing factors, and it's one of only a few ski in ski out hotels in the Arlberg. Set right on the slope and next to the St Christophbahn four man chairlift, you can ski straight from the front door to St Anton, or take the shuttle bus to Zurs and Lech, ready to explore over 340km of pistes. The nursery slopes and ski school are located directly opposite, making it incredibly convenient for beginners.
The hotel has a friendly and homely feel, with lots of rustic and traditional features. And although the rooms are simple and plain, it is the winning combination of a superb location and exceptionally friendly service which makes the Hotel Maiensee a special place to stay. Hearty breakfasts are served in the cosy Zirbenstube, whilst the Maiensee Stuben, with its open fire is an atmospheric restaurant for dinner. Choose from one of the many wines that are found in the hotel's own cellar, cut deep into the bedrock. The food is of a high standard, and is a mix of international and Tyrolean, with much produce sourced from local farmers. The 1901 Lounge & Restaurant has a more modern Alpine design. Named after the founding of the world's oldest ski club - the Skiclub Arlberg - in St Christoph itself, it's decorated with cowhides and boasts a sunny terrace - perfect for lunch or dinner.
The hotel has a small Spa, with a sauna, crystal steam bath, solarium, Jacuzzi and mineral showers and offers a range of aromatherapy treatments and massages. There is also an exercise room fitted with the latest Technogym equipment.
