Restaurants in Val d`Isère

Looking for somewhere on the chefs night off? Well, look no further than one of these amazing resort restaurants.

Resort restaurants
La Baraque

A new restaurant and wine bar located on the main high street which is open for lunch as well as dinner. Dishes include lamb shoulder, rib steak, veal stew, chicken supreme and vegetable risotto.

Le Blizzard

The main gastronomic restaurant of the Hotel Blizzard has a relaxed atmosphere. Fresh market produce is used to produce delicious dishes. Alternatively, try La Luge restaurant located underneath the hotel for Savoyard specialities.

Casa Scara

A variation from the norm, this is a small Italian restaurant with some great pasta dishes. Yes you can choose the Bolognaise or Pomodoro, but also consider the Seared Scallops and Fresh Parmesan or the Beef Fillet in Balsamic Vinegar Sauce.

Chez Nano

A great little restaurant offering Italian dishes such as pizza, pasta and salads as well as steaks and traditional Savoyard food.

La Casserole

A pizza restaurant with a wide variety to choose from and a great Calzone. Good for children and families. Remember to save room for the ice cream menu!

L’Etable d’Alain

Located at the Fromagerie and farm, L’Etable d’Alain serves traditional Savoyard food and is highly recommended.

La Casserole

A cosy traditional Savoyard restaurant, excellent for Fondue and Tartiflette. Full of rustic charm with old wood beams and a great atmosphere. Don’t be late for your table as they have a habit of giving tables away if you are any more than 15 minutes late!

La Corniche

Open for lunch as well as dinner, La Corniche can be found round the corner from the church in the ‘Vieux Village’ but also very close to the foot of the nursery slopes. It serves all the Savoyard dishes you could want including Les Pierres Chaudes (hot stone you cook your own choice of meat on), Fondue and Raclette in cosy, rustic surroundings.

Flash Pizza

A pizza restaurant that also offers a home delivery service.

La Grande Ourse

Gastronomic French cuisine in traditional Savoyard décor. This restaurant, located on the snow front, is very popular at lunchtime as well as for dinner. Examples of dishes on the dinner menu include Scallops with Confit Vegetables, Spiced Risotto with Herb salad, Rack of Lamb with Rosemary Butter and Cardamom Crème Brulee. There is a large outside seating area with views across the nursery slopes.

La Luge

Located under the Hotel Blizzard, La Luge offers some of the more traditional Savoyard dishes. Choose from the tartiflette, fondue or beaufort tort followed by the chocolate fondant and green tea ice cream.

La Table de l’Ours

The only Michelin starred restaurant in Val d’Isère, La Table de l’Ours comes with mixed reviews – some say it’s an amazing dining experience with outstanding food and some say it’s over rated. All, however, do agree that it’s very expensive! The Rotisserie restaurant next door offers a more relaxed alternative serving a buffet of dishes including beef fillet and lobster and proved quite popular last season.

La Taverne d’Alsace

Under the hotel Kandahar on the main high street, this restaurant serves traditional Germanic style dishes and beers and also features a nice wine bar.

Le 1789

Traditional French cuisine and local Savoyard specialities are served in this rustic style restaurant. The interior is a little dated but quite quirky with its chequered tablecloths and the atmosphere is good. They only offer two sittings, 7.30pm and 9.30pm and the restaurant only seats 60 people, so it gets booked up very quickly. Booking in advance is a must.

Le Grain de Sel

Gourmet restaurant located in the Savoie hotel. Chef Alexandre Fabris revisits traditional cuisine, adding his individual flair to the great classics.

Le Lodge

Le Lodge has something for everyone including traditional Savoyard dishes, spare ribs, roast chicken and pizza. Its relaxed atmosphere and reasonable prices make it very popular with Val d’Isère regulars, as well as the French locals. The bar downstairs from the restaurant also means it’s very amenable for a pre or post dinner drink or two!

Les Tufs

Les Tufs is a large chalet located at the bottom of the slopes in La Daille. It’s a cosy restaurant that serves family recipes made with high quality produce. There is also a snack bar on the terrace for those who want to get quickly back on the slopes.

Maison Chevallot

Val d’Isère’s bakery is renowned throughout France for good reason. Awarded “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” multiple times, Patrick Chevallot’s bread, savouries, pastries and chocolates are spectacular. A small cafe adjacent to the bakery is a great place to sample the delights and for a quick, cheap and hearty skier’s lunch, it is only a short walk from the bottom of the Olympique gondola.

Pier Paul Jack

Located in L’Aigle des Neiges hotel, this is three places in one; Pier is the hotel restaurant, Paul offers an exciting a la carte menu of nouvelle cuisine and interesting food combinations and Jack is a great place to start your evening with pre-dinner drinks and live music. They also offer some tasty Tapas and Sushi if you’re only after a light meal. The Paul a la carte menu is also served in the Jack bar and is ideal for those who want good food in a ‘cool and trendy’ environment.

Quiksilver Coffee Shop

American style diner located in the back of the Quiksilver/Roxy shop. Serves great quality burgers, wraps, salads, cold and hot drinks. Open daily from 9.00am to 10.00pm.

Victor’s

A great little bar and restaurant that serves good quality simple food in a modern environment. They offer a varied menu with dishes including Thai red curry, pulled pork, ribs, burgers, pizzas and salads. There’s also a good selection of starters and desserts. The prices are pretty cheap by Val d’Isere standards too.
