An early morning departure is essential because this morning, you drive and then hike up to the summit of Mount Batur, where you will arrive in time for sunrise.

Drive to the base of the mountain where you will begin your ascent with your guide. The trek itself will take up to 2-hours, but you will be rewarded at the top. Upon reaching the summit, enjoy the stunning vista that surrounds you as well as views of the crater itself.

After a simple breakfast and photo opportunity, head back down visiting some of the smaller craters en route. You might even spot some recent lava flow.
