Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
California is an all-year round destination but this road trip is best from Easter through to Autumn. Spring time sees wonderful flower displays and the water is flowing from the falls in Yosemite; in the summer there are a host of watersports to be tried at the beach; and autumn brings harvest bounty and temperatures are usually still balmy. The fog is present mostly in May and June, but usually burns off by lunchtime.

Or if you have younger children, head to the Fisherman's Wharf to see the sea lions or go sailing in the harbour, or enjoy a more high-speed trip on the Bay Voyager rib.
