Days 1-3: Hanoi
Your journey begins in Hanoi, the charming capital of Vietnam. Two nights in the luxurious Sofitel Metropole will give you plenty of time to explore the small city center, or to venture further afield to visit the wonderful museums documenting Hanoi’s turbulent history. We have included a half day jeep tour which is a fun way to explore the major landmarks of the city in a manner completely in keeping with Hanoi’s history. In your own time you can venture on foot into the tangle of narrow wooden buildings and crumbling coffee houses that make up the winding lanes of the Old Quarter, just a few minutes’ walk from your door. Great for unique shopping and exploring, you can really enjoy a day losing yourself in these entirely authentic back streets.
Accommodation: Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi (2 nights)
-
Days 3-6: Hoi An
A short flight from Hanoi is the UNESCO protected town of Hoi An, perched on Vietnam’s glorious central coast. Here we invite you to stay at the Four Seasons Nam Hai, ideally located on the beach just a few minutes’ drive from Hoi An. Stay in a luxurious private villa, steps away from the beach and indulge in a day of cooking and exploring local food markets with the Four Season’s cooking academy chefs. Take a morning walk into town with your guide to explore the Old Town where you’ll find charming wooden houses, brightly colored paper lanterns and the famous tailor shops, where you can have new clothes and shoes tailored for you in just a day or two.
Accommodation: Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai Hoi An (3 nights)
-
Days 6-9: Central Vietnam and Beaches
Bid farewell to society and strike out to the isolated and private Amanoi, a short flight to the south. The tranquil resort is located on a cliff edge above a sandy beach, and the name Amanoi is derived from the Sanskrit word for ‘peace’ and noi meaning ‘place’, defining the experience that awaits. Enjoy two nights here to unwind and reflect on your adventures through this magical part of the world, and you can also enjoy indulging at the spa, snorkeling, kayaking and fishing.
Accommodation: Amanoi (3 nights)
-
Days 9-11: Saigon
For a final culture fix spend a couple of nights in the melting pot of Ho Chi Minh City, the Independent Republic of South Vietnam’s capital up until the country was unified in 1975. With our friendly guide you can visit the Old Saigon Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral and the fascinating War Remnants Museum to fully understand this bustling city’s varied history. Two nights will be plenty of time to bid farewell to Vietnam in the city that never stops moving.
Accommodation: The Reverie Saigon (2 nights)
