Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
Cambodia is hot all year round and the best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. It starts to get wetter in May and the wettest months are September and October. It is still possible to visit during this time as rain usually falls as short sharp storms. The latter part of the year through to March is a fantastic time to visit the southern parts of Vietnam.
We design each itinerary around you, so this suggested itinerary is a starting point that we can tweak or transform into something completely bespoke to you. Call us on 858 345 1762 to start planning your vacation.

Days 1-5: Siem Reap & Angkor Wat
Your journey begins by landing in Siem Reap, northern Cambodia, home to the majestic and mysterious temples of Angkor, undoubtedly one of the world’s greatest travel highlights. We recommend Phum Baitang meaning ‘Green Village’ in the local Khmer language, a beautiful retreat on the edge of Siem Reap where the rooms are located in traditional style stilted bungalows set amongst verdant tropical garden. With a crisp pool and relaxed seclusion, it is the perfect hideaway after a morning of exploration to wait out the heat of the day. Alternatively, choose any of our accommodation suggestions in Siem Reap. We have included a full day of temple touring, starting with the lesser-known temples hidden deep in the forest, almost entirely engulfed by the trees. Here you can get well away from the crowds and enjoy a private breakfast amongst the ruins. In the afternoon you venture with your knowledgeable guide to the popular site of Angkor Thom, just in time to miss the morning crowds. Another day we recommend an early start to watch the sun rising over the iconic Angkor Wat, a breath-taking experience not to be missed. We have also included a private boat trip onto Tonle Sap, Southeast Asia’s largest lake. Depending on the seasonal water levels you will negotiate the flooded channels in a large custom-built touring boat, or in a renovated ranger’s speedboat, formerly used to pursue poachers. Enjoy a meal on board as you keep an eye out for birds and wildlife.
Accommodation: Phum Baitang (4 nights)

Days 5-7: Saigon
Take a direct flight to Ho Chi Minh City which was officially renamed from Saigon in 1975. Vietnam’s largest city is a great place to spend a couple of nights, as all the central sights can with reached on foot in no more than 30 minutes from your centrally located hotel. We recommend the luxurious and beautifully appointed Park Hyatt, set across the street from the city's gracious, French-built opera house. We have included for you a day tour to the highlights of the city including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the fascinating War Remnants Museum.
Accommodation: Park Hyatt Saigon (2 nights)
-
Days 7-12: Con Dao Island
After your cultural immersion, it's time to relax with five nights at a wonderful Six Senses resort. Take a short flight to the beautiful island of Con Dao, in the Con Son archipelago off the south coast of Vietnam. This almost entirely undeveloped island has untouched rainforest, dramatic mountains and pristine white sandy beaches. As you approach Six Senses Con Dao, at first it is hard to see as it blends so well into the local environment. Spend your first few days relaxing in your villa, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the total seclusion. The hotel is set on a stunning stretch of long beach (perfect for lovely walks) with calm waters for swimming and Con Dao boasts some of Vietnam’s best snorkeling and diving close by. The cuisine here is delicious, showcasing the finest Vietnamese specialties, so you could take part in a cooking class, or maybe just unwind in the fabulous spa.
Accommodation: Six Senses Con Dao (5 nights)
