Nordic Center in Vail
Vail and Beaver Creek, United States of America
Whether it be snow-shoeing, cross-country or tele-marking programs, why not visit the Nordic Center to try something different on the mountain this year?
It's time for the other mountain experience. Need a day off the slopes? Maybe looking for something different? Try one of our Nordic experiences. Take a backcountry Snowshoe or backcountry skiing tour in the beautiful White River National Forest, or learn new skills like Telemark and Cross Country skiing.
The 5K cross-country track is located at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola (#19) and just west of the Pride Express Lift (#26), overlooking Mount of the Holy Cross and the Gore Range. The new track offers various cross country routes that include flats suited for beginners as well as rolling terrain for the more experienced skier. It is open to the public free of charge during gondola operating hours and a valid season pass or foot passenger ticket is required to ride the gondola. You can have beginner lessons if you want or the more advanced are also catered for.
There are daily snowshoeing tours for all abilities. The group leaders will take you into the surrounding wilderness as you learn about the area history, wildlife and natural surroundings.
There are also daily Telemark workshops and private lessons as well, this is a great way to ski but with the extra joy of being a bit more free.
