Denali Backcountry Adventure

The restricted access road is not open to private vehicles past Mile 12, so a converted school bus from the Denali Cabins or the Denali Train Depot is the best way to see the Park, providing an unforgettable wildlife and sightseeing tour along the way. The driver-guides narrate the trip with an interpretive tour of the Park's landscapes and history, as well as helping to spot wildlife. Look out for different animal species such as bears, caribou, moose, sheep, wolves and a variety of birds as you travel within the park.

Opt for a flightseeing trip back to the park entrance (additional cost) instead of taking the bus, for the opportunity to see the majestic Mount Denali from the air!
