Average time to visit
The best time to visit Charleston is during the spring, between March and August. The blooming Magnolia trees make for a picture-perfect city landscape and the temperatures are warm. The summer months of July and August can be incredibly hot and humid, so a few days in the city should be rounded off with a trip to the coast. Winter can be pleasant, but there is a slight chill in the air that deters most tourists.

A staple of Charleston, the Belmond Charleston Place has the key location of the city too. Just across from famous City Market and a short walk to both King Street shopping and the famous French quarter and stunning architecture. The largest hotel we feature, it comes complete with a shopping arcade full of designer stores and a spectacular lobby with a stunning chandelier and double sided staircase, well worth making an entrance on your way down form the first floor! The style of the hotel is definitely traditional and worthy of a prime location in Charleston. Ideal for families, they offer suites and guaranteed connecting rooms as well as an indoor pool and terraces. For facilities, service and location it really does tick all the boxes for a short stay in the city. The service is good, the staff friendly and there are enough restaurant options to keep the whole family happy. Whilst it will never offer cutting edge style or contemporary experience, it is a solid winner for the Belmond hotel brand in this wonderful low country city and probably the best option for younger families traveling here.
