Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

It is very difficult to predict the weather in the United Kingdom - in the summer from May to late September is generally seen as the most pleasant time to visit. Rainfall is difficult to predict - but England does not receive as much as many are led to believe! In the winters, temperatures do fall, but there is nothing better than finding a remote pub with a roaring fire to sit beside after a long walk in the country.

  3. Days 8-11: The Cotswolds

After an action-packed stay in London, a private driver will take you into the glorious Cotswolds countryside, stopping off to explore the royal home of Windsor Castle along the way if you like. Just a couple of hours from London, the Cotswolds is a countryside district filled with quaint english villages, winding roads and rolling hills. Your base in the Cotswolds is Calcot Manor, a 14-century manor farmhouse just three miles from Tetbury, which is both stylish and great for families. Three miles of cycle paths wind their way around the property and there are some great country walking trails to be discovered locally. Horse riding is also available as well as outdoor tennis courts. The hotel offers a range of activities for children from cookery classes to painting, tailored to the season. With specialist family rooms there is plenty of space for your whole family to relax and enjoy their stay.

From the Cotswolds there are a range of historic towns your private guide can take you to, such as Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, with narrow streets and authentic tudor-style houses. The city of Oxford is also just over an hour away from your hotel, and is home of the world-famous Oxford University, where you will also find a collection of historic buildings in the medieval center, as well as winding rivers where you can enjoy a spot of punting. Also within easy reach of Calcot Manor is the Roman City of Bath, famous for it's brown bath-stone buildings and home to some of the world's best-preserved roman baths.

At the end of your trip your private guide will escort you back to London for your onward journey, you may also choose to make a small detour to the world heritage sight of Stonehenge.
