Average time to visit
Thailand remains tropical and humid for most of the year and overall the best time to visit is between November and February when temperatures are more manageable and rain is less common. There are three main seasons; the cool season is from November to February, although it is usually only actually cool in the north of the country, the rainy season is from May to October and the hot season is from March to May. There are of course regional variations across the country, however generally there is little difference in temperature across the center and the south of the country.

Itinerary
This easy-going itinerary is a fantastic introduction to Thailand for families of all ages but is particularly suited to our younger guests. Combining the bustle of Bangkok with sandy beaches and turquoise seas of Phuket, there is plenty to see and do, as well as ample opportunity for relaxation. This is a great option for December and March school vacations.

Days 1-4: Bangkok
Your family adventure begins with three nights in the center of Bangkok. We recommend the fantastic Peninsula Bangkok, located right on the bank of Thailand's iconic Chao Phraya River, and boasting one the best swimming pools in Bangkok. The hotel has its own academy which offers a range of excursions and classes for both adults and children. Why not try your hand (or in this case, feet!) at the art of Muay Thai kickboxing, or for younger guests, get creative in a Thai painting class or learn how to make sweet treats in the hotel's pastry kitchen. Bangkok is a great place for exploration, so we have arranged a guided tour around the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, home to the famous 45m (148 ft) reclining Buddha. We also feel you’d love a family cycling trip through a peaceful village on a lush island close to the capital’s business district. Cycle past canals, mangrove forests and traditional Thai houses, and sample fresh produce as you chat to the friendly locals.
Accommodation: Peninsula Bangkok (3 nights)

Days 4-9: Phuket
From Bangkok you will fly down to Phuket, renowned for its beautiful beaches, lovely hotels and family friendly atmosphere. During your time in Phuket, you can be as active or relaxed as you like with plenty to choose from including water sports, daytrips around the island, kayaking, cultural tours and much more are all available.
Accommodation: Amanpuri (5 nights)
