Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

As it is one of the most well known floating markets, it is worth being aware that Damnoen Saduak is great fun, but does feel touristy, therefore we suggest arriving as early as possible if you would prefer to avoid the crowds.

The market is 90 minutes' drive from central Bangkok, and consists of small canals, locally known as 'klongs'. These are brimming with vendors in flat bottom boats, jostling for position and all keen to sell their wares of fruit, vegetables, cooked food and souvenirs.

The market is open every day from 07:00 until 12:30. We suggest starting early, with the whole trip taking around half a day.
