Dushanbe City Tour with Hissar Fortress
Take a tour of Dushanbe, Tajikistan's capital and largest city, before heading to Hissar fortress, 15 km to the west. Visit Monument of Ismoili Somoni, Rudaki Park, Presidential Palace, Museum of National Antiquities, Navruz Palace and Botanical Gardens.
Begin the city tour of Dushanbe, Tajikistan's capital and largest city, at Rudaki Park, named after the great Persian poet from 9th century AD. Continue to the adjacent Monument of Ismoii Somoni to learn more about the 10th-century leader who is regarded at Tajikistan's national hero. Next up is Tajikistan presidential palace before going to Museum of National Antiquities whose collection includes a 1,600 year-old Budhha in Nirvana statue.
Travel 15 km to the west of Dushanbe to Hissar Fortress, formerly the residence for Emir of Bukhara's deputy. Return to Dushanbe's Navruz Palace whose design involved hundreds of artisans from all over Tajikistan. End the tour at the Botanical Gardens, home to a fine collection of deicduous trees.
