The summer weather in the Netherlands is pleasantly warm and from June to August has temperatures averaging 22 - 30C. During the winter months (December to February) it is much colder and often only has highs of 4C, however due to how built up some of the city is, it can seem warmer.

The Dylan hotel is housed on the site of a historical Dutch theater and has become renowned for it's elegant charm, the beautiful architecture of the building adding to the experience of total luxury. Located on one of the city's principal canals in the very heart of Amsterdam, a stay here offers fantastically easy access to the chic shopping district known as the 'Nine Streets' and the hotel is perfectly positioned for visiting the numerous museums and galleries on offer. Hire a bicycle and cycle along the canals, stopping to enjoy a coffee at a local street cafe.
With just 40 bedrooms, each room type from the standard double to the opulent signature suite with 20ft high floor-to-ceiling windows provides a sense of calm and a high level of comfort within the city. Every room is distinct and some have been specially designed by Dutch architect Remy Meijers for a chic and individual feel.
The Dylan's dining experience is second-to-none, Vinkeles restaurant offers an intimate 18th century setting and fine contemporary dishes are created by its Michelin starred chef. For all-day dining, Bar Brasserie OCCO serves a relaxed menu alongside signature cocktails with a delightful garden courtyard to be enjoyed in summer months.
Accommodation
Rooms and suites at The Dylan are refined and tasteful, each with distinct features and its own individual character. Charming wooden beams grace the ceilings of the highest rooms, whilst feature wardrobes add an interesting touch to others. Rooms can be chosen by preferred 'style' so can be matched to guests' tastes.
Serendipity rooms are decorated in warming neutral tones and have a contemporary feel, Loxura rooms are based on the copper-colored Loxura butterfly and elegant furnishings reflect these beautiful creatures, and the Loft rooms are authentic Dutch minimalist style with exposed beams and a neutral color scheme.
All rooms and suites either enjoy views over the gardens and courtyard or over the canal. Amenities include air-conditioning, Bose sound systems with Bluetooth iPod connection, safes, TVs, minibars, 'Frette' bathrobes, linens and slippers, Miller Harris bath products and complimentary WiFi.
Double Rooms | Double rooms range from 23sqm to 30sqm and come fitted with queen or twin beds. Each of the three rooms enjoys views over the gardens or courtyard and can be interconnected. Rollaway beds can be added upon request. |
Duplex Rooms | Duplex rooms range from 35sqm to 45sqm and enjoy views over the courtyard and gardens. Rooms are split over two levels providing a sense of space and bathrooms are fitted with large soaking tubs and a separate shower. Interconnecting rooms are available. |
Junior Suites | Junior Suites measure 45sqm and come fitted with either queen or twin beds. The bathroom features a large soaking tub and separate rain shower. Interconnecting rooms are available and each enjoys views over the canals. Rollaway beds can be added for an extra charge and cots are available upon request. |
Suites | The Suites at the Dylan enjoy views over either the canals or gardens and are available in a range of styles. Superior Suites measure 55sqm whilst the Luxury Suites measure 75sqm. Rollaway beds can be added for an extra charge and baby cots are available upon request. |
Signature Suites | There are three Signature Suites at The Dylan: two 'Jacob van Campen' Suites and one 'Dylan Thomas' Suite. The 'Jacob van Campen' Suites, named after the renowned Dutch architect, are characterized by their sleek, modern design which incorporates the traditional charm of the property. 20-foot high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows create a light and airy space, whilst ornamental ceilings and bronze chandeliers add a touch of luxury. The 'Dylan Thomas' Suite, named after the famous Welsh poet, is characterized by beautiful wooden shutters, a vivid color scheme and stunning views overlooking the gardens. |
