Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
The best time to visit Oman is between November and mid-March, when the cooler air brings the mountain scenery sharply into focus and daytime temperatures average 25°C. For the rest of the year, much of Oman is oppressively hot and hazy, particularly between May and August.
The Maldives has a tropical climate distinguished by two seasons, or monsoons: the dry northeast monsoon from December to March, and the wet southwestern monsoon from May to November, with more strong winds and rain. April is a transitional period noted for clear water and heat. The temperature remains remarkably consistent at around 30°C.
February to April is the hottest period and resorts are almost all operating at capacity during this period. Mid-December to early January comes at even more of a premium due to Christmas and New Year and prices are even higher. Easter and the Italian vacation week in August also attract peak prices at most resorts.
Storms are more likely from May to November, though it’s still warm, skies can be cloudy and the humidity is higher. This is the low season, with fewer people and lower prices, with the exception of August.
Diving is good year-round, although a basic rule is that life on the reef is more varied and visibility better on the western side of any atoll from May to November and from the eastern side of any atoll December to April.
The surfing season runs from March to October, which is when resorts are at their cheapest.

Itinerary
This trip offers the perfect blend of activities and relaxation, combined with the renowned service and style of two spectacular Six Senses hotels; the rustic luxury of Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman and the eco-friendly island paradise of Six Senses Laamu.

Fly to Dubai

Days 1-5: Musandam Peninsula
After flying into Dubai, arrive in style at the Six Senses Zighy Bay, with options including paragliding down from the cliff top or arriving on the beach via speedboat. Stay in your own private villa which blends rustic Omani elegance with a modern twist, including its own plunge pool.
Guests will be spoiled for choice when it comes to activities, including watersports such as waterskiing, wakeboarding, snorkeling, diving, kayaking and hand-line fishing, as well as boat trips on either a speed boat or a dhow, a traditional local fishing boat. Away from the water, there is hiking and 4x4 expeditions to local villages. You can even take in the bay from the air, gliding through the skies in a paraglide or Micro Light.
There are a number of fantastic dining options, including the award-winning Sense on the Edge restaurant which sits on the cliff tops overlooking the bay. For those looking to get a taste of the local culture, there is the Spice Market which serves Arabic delicacies in a relaxed atmosphere and the Shua Shack which offers an authentic Arabic dining experience, with organic salads and lamb cooked in an underground oven.

Days 5-12: Maldives
Once you have enjoyed the rustic charm of Zighy Bay, it’s time to fly to the tropical paradise of the Maldives, where turquoise sea meets azure sky across an uninterrupted horizon that seems to go on forever. After flying into Male from Dubai, it is only a short domestic flight and boat trip until you reach the Six Senses Laamu, the only resort on the remote Laamu Atoll.
The Six Senses hotels are committed to environmental protection, and this is clear in the design of the villas at Six Senses Laamu, which seamlessly combine local and sustainable materials with comfort and luxury.
There is something for everyone when it comes to activities. As well as the pristine beaches, Laamu is one of the best places in the Maldives for surfing and this is complimentary for hotel guests, with lessons available for an extra cost. There is superb diving and snorkeling, where you can gaze upon magnificent coral reefs and encounter the local wildlife, including grey reef sharks, white-tip reef sharks, barracudas, stingrays, big napoleon wrasses and turtles.
For those looking for that extra something special when it comes to relaxation, it is possible to privately reserve the sandbank for two hours, and this is also available for candlelit barbeques or for breakfast, where you can watch the sunrise as you dine on fresh fruit and homemade pastries. Back at the hotel you can treat yourself to a massage at the in-house spa, either in a secluded pavilion or treatment ‘nest’.
