Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Japan kicks off its year with cold winter days and the odd snowfall. Although temperatures occasionally drop below freezing, winter (December to February) is usually reasonable. Spring (March to May) brings pleasant, warm days, and, of course, cherry blossoms – early April is probably the best time to view the blooms. Summer (June to August) is hot and muggy. Late June can see torrential rains. The temperature and humidity are at their worst in August. Apart from spring, autumn (September to November) is the most pleasant season as temperatures cool down to a cosy level and days are often clear and fine. Fall also means the return of the dramatic foliage season, when the parks and green areas of the city mellow into varying hues of orange and red.

The Philippines has a tropical climate. Generally, the dry season runs from November to May, with scattered showers between June and October. January is usually the coolest month, with temperatures averaging about 25°C, and May the hottest, with an average temperature of about 28°C.

Itinerary

This breathtaking itinerary combines the romantic mystery of Japan with the stunning white sand beaches of the exotic Philippines. With stops in Kyoto and Tokyo you’ll be able to explore both sides of Japan, ancient and modern before enjoying five nights of completely blissful relaxation to end.

  1. Days 1-4: Kyoto

The itinerary starts in Kyoto and we have included a private transfer from Kansai airport, just outside of Osaka for you on arrival.  As the capital of Japan until the late 1800s the city is full of ancient palaces and temples which offer a fantastic insight into this country's unique history. Spend your days winding your way through the romantic streets of Gion and uncovering the mysteries of the stunning palaces and temples.  We have included three nights in Kyoto and one full day of guiding so that you can discover all the ancient highlights but also have plenty of time to explore the city on your own, which we know will be important to you on your honeymoon. When you are in Kyoto we have included a traditional tea ceremony, a sacred art form in Japan, giving you a beautiful insight into this rich and interesting culture.

Accommodation: The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto (3 nights)

  2. Days 4-7: Tokyo

From Kyoto you will take the incredible and iconic bullet train for just over two hours to Tokyo where you will be spending your next three nights. This sprawling metropolis truly offers something for everyone whether you are a night owl wanting to visit the bright lights of Roppongi or a culture vulture looking to immerse yourself in the ancient temples of the city. Like in Kyoto we have included a day of private guiding to explore the city. We work with some of the best guides in Japan who are both hugely knowledgeable and very flexible, customizing everything completely to you.

    Accommodation: Palace Hotel (3 nights)

  3. Days 7-12: Palawan

For the last stop on your honeymoon you will take a direct flight from Tokyo to Manila where you will be met by your private transfer and charter flight to the private island of Amanpulo in the Philippines. As close to paradise as you can get you’ll be surrounded by pristine crystal-clear waters, powdery white beaches and lush tropical jungle. Spend your days diving on the nearby reef, taking advantage of the multitude of water sports on offer or simply soaking up the sun and lazing on one of the most beautiful beaches that you will ever experience.
