With verdant forests and crystalline lakes, the Lake District offers the scenery of fairy tales
Buenos Aires and Cordoba are year-round destinations. The best time to visit the Lake District is between November and April when temperatures are at their warmest. December through February is peak summer and when the region is at its busiest. For those keen to ski then Argentina's winter from July to September is the best time. Temperatures are much colder. The Lake District is particularly beautiful in spring (October) and autumn (March. These months tend to be milder than during the height of summer and quieter.
This is a fun-filled and action-packed adventure in Argentina with something for all the family: discover lively Buenos Aires, ride the grasslands with Argentina’s legendary cowboys and go kayaking or trekking in the stunning Lake District.
Arrive in Buenos Aires, Argentina's vibrant capital city. There is lots for the whole family, from taking in a Boca Juniors soccer game and shopping till you drop, to learning some tango steps and dining out at fabulous steak restaurants. We’ve included a fun city tour by bike and a walking food tour that will give you a great introduction to a nation that really knows how to do food. Be sure to try the empanadas!
Take a short flight to Cordoba, where you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to a fabulous estancia in the countryside to switch cityscape for sweeping panoramas over vast plains. Receive a warm welcome from the owners at this authentic working cattle ranch, where horses are used for work and transport and the cattle roam free. Ride like a gaucho with the real-deal cowboys, learning all about their culture and traditions. In the evenings, enjoy a typical Argentine ‘asado’ BBQ and sample the incredible home-from-home hospitality before your flight home.
Fly south to Bariloche, gateway to the beautiful Lake District and Argentina’s answer to a Swiss chocolate town. You’ll be met at the airport and transferred to the charming Estancia Peuma Hue. Nestled lakeside and surrounded by towering evergreens, the setting is picturesque. Spend your days here on self-guided hikes, kayaking on the lake or traveling further afield to discover the region’s expansive lakes, dense forests and hidden gems.
Transfer back to Bariloche and board a flight to Buenos Aires for a final night in the capital.
