September - November
Fall in Greece brings golden days, still-warm waters and fewer crowds. September is one of the best months for overall travel in Greece. The beaches are stunning, the sea water is still pleasantly bathtub water warm (75°F/24°C) from heating up over the summer and many of the tourists have returned home, leaving the coast largely your own private paradise. In October, you may see a bit balmier weather, but Indian Summer is still in effect in many parts of Greece, with Crete being especially lovely. This is also an excellent time of year for whale watching and sailing competitions. In November, a sense of normalcy returns to the country, as does a chillier climate, and the tourist season comes to an end. Fall is a beautiful time to visit Greece from the landscape’s changing colors and lower prices to diminished crowds, it's also one of the best times to sightsee in Santorini and Athens.
