Southern Thailand has an equatorial climate, whilst the center and the north have more of a tropical monsoon climate. November to April is the driest period with only a few days of rain a month. The climate on the east coast is at its best between February and September, whilst the west is sunny between December and March. May is the cheapest period, though climate wise you may have to experience some higher temperatures and humidity.
The King's birthday, which falls on 05 December, is cause for huge celebration in Thailand. There are street celebrations, formal events, music performances and fireworks in the evening in most cities and towns.
Head to the west coast in January to escape the winter gloom and enjoy a dose of sun and sea
-If you’re planning on exploring the Northern provinces and jungles, aim for the hot season (March to May) or early rainy season (June to July) as the temperatures at altitude are more moderate around these times.
