The best time to visit Chiang Mai is between October and April. The monsoon season traditionally begins in May and lasts through to October, with July to September usually being the time of heaviest rain. The hottest month is April, when temperatures can hit the 40s. The cooler months of November to January will be a good time to travel if you don't like the heat, with the average day temperature slightly below 30°C.

As a small and boutique property, there are just 33 spacious suites at the hotel which are separated into three categories. Each suite comes complete with an outdoor terrace with some having an additional private pool. Designed with a beautiful, light and airy feel, each room has a contemporary and tranquil atmosphere.
In terms of facilities, the main restaurant, Khu Khao serves an interesting mix of Burmese, Cambodian, Laotian, Yunanese and Mon cuisines and as much as possible, uses produce solely sourced from local sustainable farms. For afternoons relaxing, you can choose from either the Laan Cha tea terrace or Baan Ta lounge. Alongside the dining options, you’ll also find a lovely outdoor swimming pool with views over the river, a gym and lovely spa with a variety of relaxing treatments.
There are just 33 rooms, all of which being suites, at Raya Heritage. The suites are split into three categories each follows a fairly similar layout. Each suite comes with its open outdoor terrace and the Kramm Pool Suites located on the ground floor come complete with private plunge pools. The Huen Bon and Rin Terrace Suites are located on the third and second floors respectively and each come with a covered outdoor terrace, with the Rin Terrace Suites offering connecting rooms. All of the suites feature handcrafted design touches such as rattan furniture, handwoven textiles and baskets and beautifully carved woodwork.
Children are welcomed at Raya Heritage and there are connecting room options available.
The main restaurant at Raya Heritage, Khu Khao, provides fusion cuisine with dishes from Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and China showcasing the unique culinary heritage of Chiang Mai, with its intersection of all four countries. For lighter bites, the Laan Cha Tea terrace provides a relaxing spot overlooking the river with a selection of juices and afternoon tea whilst the Baan Ta Loung is the ideal location for a pre-dinner cocktails or light evening meals. All of the produce used in the kitchens of Raya Heritage are well possible locally sourced and all organic.
As a small boutique property, facilities are limited but provide everything you need with a beautiful outdoor pool and Ai Waan spa offering traditional Northern Thai and Burmese healing treatments.
Chiang Mai has a wealth of sites to explore in and around the city including visits to temples, markets, local villages and hikes in the surrounding national parks. With its history of craftsmanship, visits to local artisan studios and markets can also be enjoyed.
Spend the day at Tong Bai Foundation elephant camp in Mae Win where you can get to know the elephants, learn about the foundation, walk and bathe with them.
