Average time to visit
The best time to visit is typically during the drier, slightly milder months between November and April. The ‘rainy’ season begins in the south around June and runs until November. Although it can be hotter and more humid at this time of year, usually it only rains for a couple of hours before the weather clears. The wettest months tend to be September and October. The Caribbean coast can be affected by the hurricane season, which officially is from June to November.

A sister property to the exquisite Casa Nalum near Tulum, Casa Ikal is a stunning contemporary beachfront villa with four bedrooms that makes a superb base for discerning families wanting to discover a little-explored corner of Mexico’s Riviera Maya
Casa Ikal enjoys a highly privileged beachfront position inside Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, a Unesco World Heritage site with wetlands, archaeological sites, numerous bird and mammal species as well as endangered sea turtles.
This newly constructed four-bedroom villa was designed by De Yturbe architects, and is a beautiful contemporary villa with 100 meters of beach frontage, and access via the lagoon to a series of ancient Mayan canals. A coral reef protects the ocean waters and swimmers may reach the reef easily from shore.
Casa Ikal is fully staffed and scores highly on its environmental credentials, being sun and wind-powered. However, luxury is certainly not sacrificed, and air conditioning, Wifi, a home movie projector and satellite TV are also available to guests.
Living areas are open plan and include living and dining areas and a fully equipped kitchen, all with fine marble floors. There are four bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms, as well as a convenient guest bath. Exterior decks abound allowing for seamless indoor-outdoor living experiences. An extra large double infinity pool is located on the rooftop set in hardwood decking, and the views of sea, lagoon and the lush vegetation are all around.
Special attention is given to food and services with personalized dietary and hospitality requirements organized prior to your stay and with emphasis to attentive, but discrete service to create a wonderfully relaxing vacation.
Accommodation
There are four bedrooms, one with a king bed, two with queen beds and one with two queen beds. All are en-suite and air-conditioned, and have a TV.
Childcare
Children are very welcome to come and stay at Casa Ikal and they will love the incredible beachfront position. Staff are happy to look after your children if you wish to head off into Tulum or elsewhere by yourselves.
Services
A maid, butler, cook and gardener are employed by the villa to ensure that every aspect of your vacation is perfectly looked after, and activities and excursions can be booked (at extra cost) as can a driver and pre-stocking of your villa. A free Swedish massage and a tour of the Mayan canals are also included in the cost of your stay.

Snorkelling can be done from the shore, and it is easy to arrange visits to Tulum, some of the Mayan sites and the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve.
