Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.
Regarded as some of the best sailing ground in the world, the British Virgin Islands are home to idyllic bays and pristine beaches. The reputation is just, with steady breezes and calm waters making for wonderful conditions to explore the archipelago.
Up until now, our trips to the British Virgin Islands have always stayed on terra firma, but to truly experience this part of the world and all it has to offer, there is no better home for your vacation than on board a luxury private catamaran. Cast aside any visions of cramped, overheated accommodation, as our boats are large, stable, air-conditioned catamarans. Complete with a professional crew, your every whim will be accommodated, and your on-board experts know all the best spots to do whatever takes your fancy. In short, our British Virgin Island yachting vacations are fantastic for people who wouldn’t necessarily 'do' a yachting vacation.
The British Virgin Islands are comprised of 60 islands, just waiting to be explored, with talcum-soft sand beaches, large islands with bustling villages and deserted atolls complete with centuries-old shipwrecks, making for a world-class diving scene.
Your luxury catamaran, ranging from 48 to 58 feet / 14.75 to 17.5 meters is a sailing yacht with good performance, yet incredibly stable and equipped with everything you’d expect if you were staying in a small villa. For those looking to arrive at their destination even quicker, there are also motor boats available as an alternative to sailing. The crew can pick you up at many locations around the British Virgin Islands if you would like a few days on dry land at the beginning or end of your vacation. The natural start point, and the yacht’s base, however, is on the island of Tortola.
From here, sit down with your skipper and host with a chart and a drink, and plan your stay. Your crew know the area like the backs of their hands, and there is no procession of yachts from one marina to another – you are free to tailor your stay on board exactly as you please. Settle into your en-suite cabin and then enjoy a cocktail on the deck. The crews are experts at discretion and are equally happy spending time telling tall tales of the sea or quietly receding to their separate cabin if they sense you would like to spend some time alone – leaving you suitably topped up with a rum cocktail, of course! Sleeping accommodation is compact, not palatial, but you’ll find you spend the vast majority of your time on deck soaking up the sun, or in the airy saloon. Provisioning on board is taken care of by your crew, and all food and drink will be tailored to your preferences.
The heady mix of fresh air, huge amounts of space and waking up to a new sunrise each day, punctuated with a familiar Anglo Caribbean vibe on shore makes this one of our most intoxicating vacation experiences, and the only thing you will regret is getting off!
Depending on the size of the yacht charter, there are between three to five cabins, sleeping between six to ten passengers. Cabins are compact, yet comfortable, with contemporary furnishings and a sleek design. The majority of cabins provide en-suite facilities.
Each yacht charter comes complete with an expert crew, masters of discretion who will cater to your every need. The skipper will help you to plan your itinerary, and will leave you to relax while they take the helm. Your private chef will learn your preferences or any dietary requirements, and plan your menus around your own personal tastes.
All luxury yacht charters have a common lounge area, where guests can relax and take their meals. The well-equipped kitchen is located in the same area, which leads outside to the deck.
Water sports are available in select destinations, such as stand up paddle boarding and kayaking. On shore excursions will vary by destination and each guest's preferences, but include snorkeling, diving and exploring the islands.
Luxury Yacht Charters tend to depart from Tortola, the main island in the British Virgin Islands archipelago.
