Sayram Mausoleums
Today, you will visit Sayram Settlement, one of the largest centers of the Great Silk Road in the Middle Ages and was first mentioned in Chinese manuscripts of the year 629. It is also known as the birthplace of the great enlightener of XII century - Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. In Sayram, enjoy visits to the Ibrahim-Ata Mausoleum and Karashash-Ana Mausoleum, the resting places of Yasawi’s father and mother, respectively. See the 10th century medieval minaret and stop at the Local History Museum “Sairam” for a walk down the memory lane of Sayram’s 3,000-year-old history.
