Nomad Ethnic Center

From Kazakhs, Sakas, Usuns, Kangyus to Turks, nomadic tribes are prevalent in the Great Steppes. This ethnographic complex invites you to participate first-hand in activities for a taste of how life is like in the steppes.

Participate in art and craft activities such as rolling felt, weaving naps and lint-free carpets. Get acquainted to the unique gastronomic tradition of the steppes, as you join the chef on a workshop which shows the traditional methods of preparing and cooking authentic Kazakh dishes.

Yurt is a distinctive feature and homes of the nomads. Learn about its history, structure, as well as the different elements which goes into the making of a yurt's interior and exterior.
