Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve

Listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Center, Aksu Zhabagly Reserve offers a stunningly diverse landscapes from semi-deserts to snow-capped peaks. It is also home for argali, deer, lynx, snow leopards, bears and many wildlife.

Aksu-Zhabagly is Central Asia’s oldest nature reserve, offering a rich and varied landscape, with Kyzyl Kum semi-desert to Tian Shan and Karatau mountains in the North. The Aksu river passes through the area with a 500-meter deep Aksu Canyon. The UNESCO-listed Aksu-Zhabagly is a unique wilderness experience where marmots, ibex, lynx, wolves, bears, argalis and deers live. The elusive snow leopards roam the high mountains of this area as well.

We recommend you to bring a good comfortable walking shoes as there are quite a bit of walking involved.
