A large resort hotel with both private and communal onsen overlooking the Sea of Okhotsk amid great natural beauty, Shiretoko Grand Kitakobushi provides a comfortable base for exploring this World Natural Heritage Site.

The interior design of Shiretoko Grand Kitakobushi honours the rich heritage of the northeast tip of Hokkaido, with the use of rustic timbers and local stone, a lobby shrine and reception desk finished in traditional washi-style paper decorated with ocean waves and marine life. This large resort is a good base for whale watching, ice floating and bear viewing and offers a range of both Western and Japanese-style rooms, some with private onsen.
Standard rooms at the hotel are compact but do include a seating area and en-suite bathroom. Amenities include air-conditioning, heating, LCD TV, fridge, kettle and safe. Guests can also choose from Western-style rooms, some of which include ocean views, private onsen, cosy seating area with fireplace and rocking chair or Japanese-style rooms with tatami furniture, futon beds and the option for a private onsen. Large groups and families can book a room sleeping up to eight guests in twin-beds with up to six futon beds. In addition, there are 24 Okhotsk Club rooms authentically furnished with rustic materials, dark woods and deer horn art.
The Terrace Dining Haon Restaurant offers sophisticated buffet style dining for breakfast and dinner, with plenty of fresh seafood and international dishes. There are several lounge areas, including the Lounge Bar, Cigar Bar and Okhotsk Lounge for relaxing over drinks and light refreshments.
The Okhotsk Spa offers both indoor and outdoor hot spring bathing, wonderful ocean views and massage services. Along with a kid’s play area, there is also a pet lounge.
