The Magnificent Antrim Coast

County Antrim, Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland’s Antrim Coast is justifiably famous for the Giant’s Causeway, a wonderful coastline and some of the most beautiful and most varied scenery in Northern Ireland.

The area includes three designated areas of outstanding natural beauty, nine glens including Glenariff the ‘Queen of the Glens’, lush forest parks, secluded coastal tracks and numerous quaint fishing villages. A day spent exploring with your guide will take you to gentle bays and valleys, dramatic headlands, farmland and the wild open expanse of moorland on the plateau.

Most spectacular of all is Giant’s Causeway, with its many thousands of hexagonal basalt pillars creating an extraordinary coastal landscape. Added to this the area has a long settlement history with many important archaeological sites, listed buildings, historic monuments and conservation areas. Rich in folklore, it has a strong cultural heritage and close associations with Scotland, and on a clear day there are fine views to the Scottish Mull of Kintyre just 12 miles from Torr Head.
