Denpasar Street Food Tour with an Expert

Start by meeting your guide for the day, a food expert and chef at one of Bali’s best and most authentic group of restaurants, who will guide you through the delicacies of Indonesian cooking.
During this local culinary tour, you will witness the everyday life of the local street vendors. On this Balinese food experience you will discover the local eateries known as Warungs as well as the famed market in the Heritage area of Denpasar.
Begin by sampling one of Bali's most popular dish, suckling pig or “Babi Guling”. Infused with spices including turmeric, coriander seeds, lemongrass, black pepper and garlic, it is spit-roasted for several hours and usually consumed as a late morning meal.
Pass the Badung Market and stop to try “Jajanan Pasar”, a typical Indonesian cake. This market is the largest market on the island and is well-known for its fresh produce.
Here you will also get the chance to taste Indonesian rice cake and tofu, a mix of “Tipat” or “Ketupat” (boiled rice wrapped in coconut leaves) and Tahu (tofu soya milk cheese) which is served up with sweet spicy peanut sauce and bean sprouts.
After some tastings, you can walk it off by exploring Denpasar City on foot with your guide. You will visit a Rasta shop, which is owned by a friendly Rastafarian from Yemen who will let you sample an arrat of Arabian snacks.
Next, enjoy a quick coffee break at the famous "Bhineka Djaja". This is the oldest coffee shop in town and is loved among coffee lovers worldwide.
Afterwards, stop for lunch at a small local Warung famous for its Balinese “Nasi Campur”, a popular dish of a scoop of rice accompanied by small portions of a number of other dishes. You'll then need to walk off all the delicious food you've eaten, so your guide will take you to Puri Agung Tampaksiring, a Balinese House where you will meet a local family.
Opposite from the Puri Agung Tampaksiring, there is a beef and pork Satay eatery which is very popular amongst locals. If you are still hungry after a day of indulging, grab a quick bite there and try the Balinese dessert "Jaje Laklak", a traditional Balinese cake made out of rice flour.
