Backwaters - Experience Kumarakom

Kumarakom is a village based on the edge of Lake Vembanadu. The village is beautifully laid out over a number of different picturesque islands and is a wonderful example of how people live in the backwaters.
Spend time on a half day tour with a guide learning the ways of the Keralan people. You will cruise through the backwaters visiting different destinations and learning the skills the local people use day to day.
Start by learning how to climb a coconut tree, then onwards to paddy fields and Gowri's house where you learn to weave coconut leaves, fish with the local fisherman, and finally stop off at Latha's house to learn the art of cori spinning. You will come away feeling like you have got a real understanding of what it is like to live in Kerala.
