Kutaisi
Dubbed the capital of Western Georgia, Kutaisi is home to awe-inspiring cathedral frescoes, an anachronistic parliament building and excellent caves.
Kutaisi is home to the Gelati Monastery, a symbol of the Orthodox Christianity and one of Georgia's first monasteries. Incredibly well-preserved, it boasts some of the most detailed and colorful mosaics in all of Caucasus. Another highlight is Bagrati Cathedral, an 11th century reconstructed masterpiece with unique green dome. Natural parks like Prometheus Cave which provides an easy glimpse into the world of stalactites and stalagmites, is within driving range.
