Inside, the dark wood antique furniture, parquet floors, long drapes, and classic upholstery, give Le Manoir a country house feel, both grand and intimate. The elegant library and lounge with an open bar invites relaxation, while the pretty terrace enjoys stunning views of the turreted Château d’Amboise. There is a concierge service for restaurant reservations and bookings, and you’ll find the staff both friendly and warm.
As a small property with just 19 rooms, there is a real personal touch to the hospitality on offer. The 15 rooms in the manor are individually decorated in a palette of dusky browns and soft creams, with a classic but luxe style the French are renown for. Oversized mirrors, gilt-framed artwork, floral carpets, antique wood dressers and exposed beams add to the homely French country house ambience. An additional 4 rooms, with a more modern vibe are located in Le Pavillon des Rosiers, across the courtyard from the manor. Upgraded rooms include sofa beds, original fireplaces, and glorious views of Château Royal d’Amboise.
While there is no onsite restaurant, breakfast is served in the sunlit dining room and the open bar allows guests to enjoy a drink in the lounge or on the terrace whenever they please. Just a short walk away, guests will find plenty of dining options among the restaurants of Amboise.
Le Manoir makes a wonderful base for exploring the region’s châteaux. Château Royal d’Amboise is less than a five-minute walk away, Château du Clos Lucé, the former home of Leonardo Da Vinci is a 15-minute walk, or why not hire bikes from the tourist office to visit Chenonceau and Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire a little further afield.
