Head way-off the beaten track and be one of the few adventurers to visit the incredible site of Choquequirao, dramatically located on a promontory above the roaring Apurimac River, on a five-day challenging mule-supported hike.
Way off the beaten track, Choquequirao, the "Cradle of Gold" is an amazingly preserved Inca outpost. It is comparable in size to Machu Picchu, dramatically located on a promontory nearly 1700m above the roaring Apurimac river and is only accessible by a tough trek.
This five-day mule supported hike to Choquequirao and back takes you deep into the Apurimac Canyon, and then up to camp just below the incredible ruins of Choquequirao. We allow a whole day to explore this magnificent site before returning to Cuzco. This is your chance to be amongst one of the few adventurers to visit this incredible site and complete a rewarding trek.
