For those safari aficionados who are looking for a bit more adventure, there can be nothing more exciting than spending a night in the middle of the African bush. Sleep in a mosquito net dome with all the sounds of the bush around you.
Picture the scene - a walk accompanied by your experienced guide, rounding the corner and seeing your very own camp all set up for you. Bedrolls under the stars, nothing but the wispy softness of a mosquito net separating you from the scents and sounds of an African night. Your guide will prepare a delicious dinner as you sit round the fire, and then, as the embers glow, you retreat to your supremely comfortable bedroll.
The African night is full of sounds - from the whooping communication calls of hyena, to the alarm snort of impala, or you may be lucky enough to hear the deep rumbles of satisfied elephant, the rough saw-cough of a passing leopard or even the booming roar of the King of the Jungle, the lion. You are safe in your bedroll, watched over by your guide and surrounded by glowing camp fires, which are stoked throughout the night. In the early dawn, the birds will serenade you awake, and your guide will be waiting with a hot cup of coffee all ready for you, before your walk back to the main camp.
An adventurous and exciting experience, not for everyone, but for those who try it, the memories will last a lifetime.
