Combine a trip to one of Asia's largest floating markets with sightseeing around the town of Can Tho.
Enjoy a very early morning motor boat trip to the biggest floating market in the Mekong Delta, Cai Rang, where you’ll see many boats laden with fruit, vegetables and fish jostling for trade. Sellers advertise their wares by crying out across the waters or tying their goods to a tall pole attached to their boat so that buyers can see from a distance what is being sold. You'll also disembark the boat for a city tour. You'll start with a visit to Can Tho museum, originally established in 1976. It contains more than 5,000 objects and valuable historical relics of the Mekong Delta and is truly fascinating. It offers you a chance to understand the agricultural river life as well as how the three ethnic groups (Vietnamese, Chinese and Khmer) work and live together. Afterwards you'll drive to Binh Thuy, an ancient house that was chosen as one of the filming sites for the romantic film 'Lover' by producer J. Annaud. Constructed in 1870, the house features French architectural style and still contains a large number of valuable antiques.
