Wildlife and Culture of the Daintree Rainforest Private Tour
On this private full day tour of the Daintree River National Park and the traditional Kuku Yalanji lands at Cooya Beach you will be immersed in the wildlife, history and culture of the worlds oldest rainforest.
Rising early to enjoy the Daintree Rainforest as it should be, with almost no one else about, you'll be in awe at the orchestra of sounds that come from resident Cassowary, Forest Dragons and Buff Breasted Paradise Kingfishers as you navigate your way through the heart of the rainforest towards the Xandra Range Lookout.
Explore the boardwalks and beaches that bridge the rainforest and the reef as you hear tails from your guide about the history of the region. Explore Cape Tribulation and learn about the historical significance of its name before retreating to a secluded rainforest waterhole where you can take a dip in the crystal clear waters.
A gourmet picnic lunch will be provided before your head on towards the Daintree River for a wildlife spotting cruise. Look out for resident crocodiles, snakes and even eagles that call the Daintree home.
The final spot on your in-depth day tour is Cooya Beach, home to the Kuku Yalanji people. Meet with a local Aboriginal guide who will offer an insight into their ancient way of life. Learn where to hunt and try your hand at spear fishing before searching for crabs in the mudflats - all under the watchful eye of your Aboriginal guide. Should you be successful, your catch will be taken to the local community kitchen where you will have the opportunity to sample the fruits of your labor before returning with full bellies back to your accommodation.
