Kuytun is located just northern on the Tianshan mountain range and southwest of the Junggar Basin. As such, it creates a rugged landscape such as Kuytun Grand Canyon. Within close distance to Kuytun is Karamay, where there are plenty of attractions to be discovered.

In Karamay, you can find the Urho Ghost Citywhich is carved by erosion into ancient castles-like landscape. Today, it is known for its large oil production and refining center after the discovery of large oil fields in 1955.
