Average time to visit
Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.

Little Good Harbour is a small, family run, boutique hotel with beautiful suites and a small white sandy beach, just minutes north of Port St Charles, on the fashionable west coast of Barbados.
Intimate and private, Little Good Harbour is situated on the north west coast of Barbados in the pretty and tranquil fishing community of Shermans, yet close to fashionable St James.

This is a place for the more independent traveler looking for something just a little different, somewhere with a relaxed, more authentic approach to the term "hotel". This is more of a luxury guest house with a blooming marvelous restaurant. My favorite room is the Two Bedroom Oceanfront Fort Suite perched on the edge of the Caribbean sea with the sounds of the waves lapping the shore to send you off into a dreamy sleep.
Of course, being located in the same hotel as the famous Fish Pot Restaurant is a huge bonus and the menu here incorporates fresh, local flavors - with views you wont forget in a hurry.

This lovely hotel is further up the west coast, close to Speightstown, so away from the hustle and bustle of a lot of the other hotels on the busier stretch of coast. If you like a bit of peace and quiet with a chance to do your own thing then this is your perfect base, as all of the accommodation types have facilities enabling you to cater for yourself. Little Good Harbour is also home to the famous Fish Pot' restaurant, which serves a huge array of freshly caught seafood.
There is a road that runs between the main part of the hotel and the recently renovated Fort which has a 2 and 3 bedroom apartment in it. It's not a busy road, but with plans for a Nikki Beach to open a few minutes down the road in December 2017, it could get busier.
I loved the one bedroom garden split-level suite and the two bedroom apartment in the Fort which has recently been refurbished and has a very fresh beach feel to it. You are literally on the water front and have the gentle lapping of the waves just outside your window lulling you to sleep each night!

I loved the location of Little Good Harbour. On the west coast, but up at the Northern End, which is much quieter than the area around Holetown and surrounding villages. Little Good Harbour is close enough to all the main attractions that you can easily get out and about and see the island, but far enough away that you can retreat from the Hustle and Bustle. The hotel features one of the best restaurants on the island, the Fish Pot. It is incredibly popular, so booking here is essential. They have a range of one, two and three bedroom suites, which all have a full kitchen, but my favorite was the three bedroom Fort Suite, which is located right next to the Fish Pot, with it's own access straight onto the beach.

Set on the North West Coast, when the road gets quieter and there are less visitors around, Little Good Harbour is a great little find.
You wont find a myriad of activities, kids clubs, restaurants or entertainment here, this is a small collection of suites set across the road from a small beach and one of the most popular restaurants on the island, The Fish Pot.
Little Good Harbour is perfect for couples or families who want a base to explore the island from. The accommodation is clean, spacious and comfortable, with a choice of 1 or 2 bedrooms and a useful full kitchen. If you would like a little more luxury, the Vineyard Suites offer 3 bedrooms and every creature comfort as well as huge verandahs with sea glimpses.
If you dont want to self cater, the Fish Pot offers breakfast, lunch or dinner. The restaurant specializes in fine seafood dining and is in a fantastic location, right on the waters edge. Right next to it is the narrow white sand beach with a couple of useful beach cabanas for guest use, if you get there early enough. The property itself has two swimming pools for guest use as well.
This is a great option for an independent vacation in Barbados. Its a fabulous island to explore and so we would recommend hiring a car for your stay here, parking is available free of charge for guests.
So for those who dont want to just sit on the beach, stay here, take advantage of the hosts excellent knowledge of the island and get exploring!
