Days 1-4: Buenos Aires
Arrive in Buenos Aires and discover the capital’s energy and charm, from its wide boulevards and parks to its museums, superb restaurants and sultry tango shows. We’ve included a private tour with a local guide to give you insider knowledge on the best that this vibrant city has to offer. Argentina is renowned for its gastronomy and we’ve included an evening that showcases it at its best. Enjoy an interactive experience where you’ll learn to prepare local dishes and then sample them alongside a signature glass of Malbec.
Accommodation: CasaSur Palermo (3 nights)
-
Days 4-7: Carmelo
Catch a fast catamaran across the Rio de la Plata and arrive to the charming colonial town of Colonia del Sacramento. From here, transfer north to Carmelo and enjoy three nights exploring the countryside at the river’s edge. There’s lots to do here and we suggest exploring the local vineyards, be this via an excellent wine tasting tour, by bike or out on horseback with the excellent Uruguayan cowboys as your guides.
Accommodation: Finca Narbona (3 nights)
-
Days 7-9: Montevideo
Drive today through Uruguay’s lush countryside before arriving in Montevideo, the lively Uruguayan capital. We’ve included a fascinating walking tour, led by an expert guide, of the capital’s historic centre and museums. Afterwards, enjoy a well-earned lunch at the famous portside market.
Accommodation: Alma Histórica Boutique Hotel (2 nights)
-
Days 9-14: Jose Ignacio
Your final stop is the fashionable coastal town of Jose Ignacio. Often likened to St Tropez or the Hamptons, Jose Ignacio is a popular high-end hang out for Argentines and Uruguayans. The result is an excellent restaurant scene and cool beach bars abound. Spend your days relaxing poolside, taking long walks along the coast, surfing, sailing or exploring the amazing sand dunes of Cabo Polonio with their sea lion colonies.
