Excursion to Kunye-Urgench
Kunye-Urgench, as the capital of the ancient state of Khorezm, used to be an important city on the northern branch of Silk Road until the Mongols led by Genghis Khan destroyed it in 1221. From then on it went on a decline before finally being abandoned in 16th century. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, you will visit Turabek Khanum mausoleum, Kutlug-Timur minaret, Tekesh mausoleum, Mamun Academy, Fakhreddin Razi Mausoleum (ll-Aslan), Tash Kala Caravanserai and Najmuddin al Kubra Mausoleum in Kunye-Urgench.
