  1. Fly to Barcelona

  2. Days 1-4: Barcelona, Spain

Begin your week in Spain in the bustling capital of the north, Barcelona. This unique city boasts a fantastic foodie scene alongside its impressive collection of contemporary architecture, offering something for everyone.

Spend three nights in the centre of the city, giving you ample time to discover the highlights of Barcelona. Join your private guide to explore Barcelona’s beautiful Gothic Quarter, the historic heart of the city, and admire its spectacular medieval architecture. Visit the 13th-century Barcelona Cathedral, one of the best examples of Gothic architecture to be found in the city. In stark contrast to the medieval architecture of the Gothic Quarter, the contemporary works of Antoni Gaudi are found throughout Barcelona, and you’ll discover these breathtaking buildings and monuments alongside your private guide. Learn about the modernist artist as you visit a selection of his incredible works including La Pedrera and the iconic Sagrada Familia, which have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During your time in the north, you could also escape the hustle and bustle of the city to visit nearby Montserrat, a beautiful Benedictine monastery nestled among the unique rock formations of the surrounding mountain range. Explore the monastery with your private guide and learn about its fascinating history dating all the way back to 1025.

Accommodation: Grand Hotel Central (3 nights)

  3. Days 4-6: Seville, Andalucia

Continue south to the capital of Andalucia, Seville. This ancient city is adorned with spectacular Moorish architecture and is the birthplace of many of Spain’s most celebrated traditions, including the beautiful flamenco dance.

Explore the city with your private guide, learning about its intriguing history under the rule of the Moors. Wander through the cobbled streets of the charming Jewish quarter before visiting the majestic Real Alcazar, the oldest royal palace in Europe that is still in use today. Admire its intricate Mudejar architecture, then continue on to Seville’s Cathedral. Dating back to the 12th century, this is one of the largest cathedrals in the world and boasts a beautiful Gothic-style interior.

After an evening enjoying the lively tapas scene, head out of Seville to nearby Cordoba with your private guide. Once the largest city in western Europe, Cordoba was the capital of Islamic Spain and its 10th-century Mezquita is a true showcase of spectacular Islamic architecture. Explore the city and discover its captivating history in its impressive monuments and charming streets.

Accommodation: Corral del Rey (2 nights)

  4. Days 6-8: Andalucia
