Description
Phinda Zuka Lodge is a fabulous home away from home which offers exclusive safari experience with accommodation in a private safari house with personal game ranger, vehicle, chef and private pool. The perfect option for a family safari.
The cropped garden lawn ends in a popular watering hole that entices many a four-legged visitor. When the temptation of the water gets too much simply take a dip in the sparkling lodge pool or follow the example of the resident water monitor lizard and bask immobile in the sun on the extended pool deck.
With your own dedicated game ranger and tracker, as well as your own private vehicle, there are no set times for game drives. In this way, you have the freedom to do any activity at your own pace.
Meals are an important part of the day on safari and a huge effort goes into finding different dining locations and creating imaginative menus. Coffee, cold drinks and sundowners are served by the attentive and friendly staff.
At the end of the day, revel in the relaxation of an oversized bathtub set in a circular stone bath chamber. Round off the evening with a nightcap in the generous sitting room overlooking the watering hole, where herds of antelope may be settling in for the night or an opportunistic owl may be making a meal of the insects attracted to the light shining on the water.
Childcare
Children are welcome but there are no specific facilities except babysitting which is available on request.
Facilities
Facilities at the lodge include a swimming pool, private guide, tracker and chef, and the private outdoor boma providing an intimate dining space which is beautifully lit by dozens of lanterns at night.
Activities
Game drives, walking and bird watching are all included. Activities at an additional charge include scuba diving and scenic flights for an astonishing bird's-eye view of Phinda's varying habitats. Thanks to its coastal rainfall pattern, Phinda enjoys a lush green environment that contains seven distinct ecosystems - a magnificent tapestry of woodland, grassland, wetland and forest, interspersed with mountain ranges, rivercourses, marshes and pans. The diverse wildlife this brings is nothing short of sensational.
