April, May, June and September are some of the best months to visit Croatia, Slovenia and northern Italy as the temperatures will be pleasant and the most popular sights won't be as crowded with tourists. The warmest months of the year are July and August, during which time the daytime high temperatures will hover around between 20 to 30°C. The coldest months of the year on average are January and February, and rain can also be common at this time of year.

Days 1-3: Zagreb
Begin your adventure in Zagreb, the capital city and cultural heart of Croatia. With an old town centre dating back to the 11th century, here you’ll be able to see beautiful architecture and discover a centuries-old culture.
Spend two nights at the Esplanade Zagreb and explore the city with your private guide, admiring elegant neo-classical buildings, charming cobbled streets and vibrant local markets. Days 3-6: Ljubljana
Your next stop is Slovenia and its charming capital city, Ljubljana. This beautiful, yet undiscovered city is home to a wealth of picturesque pastel architecture, riverside bars and restaurants, and a lively atmosphere in the old town centre.
You’ll spend three nights in Ljubljana at the heart of the city, where you’ll have the chance to explore with your private guide. Head up to the 16th-century castle to learn about Ljubljana’s history, before enjoying the incredible views over the city. Venture out of the city to discover one of Slovenia’s most celebrated landmarks, the spectacular Lake Bled. Admire the emerald green waters, surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Julian Alps, and take a boat out to Bled’s quaint island to explore its tiny church. You’ll also visit nearby Lake Bohinj, less known but equally as beautiful as its more famous counterpart.
