Start your adventure in Bhutan with a couple of hikes to help you acclimatize for Druk Path. Your first day begins with an off-the-beaten walk to Zurig Lhakhang and rejoice as the path ends with a rewarding view of the Paro valley.
The next day, you will ascend to the iconic Tiger's Nest Monastery, standing dramatic and proud by the cliffside. Afterwards, we descend to Kyichu Lhakang for a home-cooked farmhouse dinner.
If you are feeling hardcore, we could change the ascend to Tiger's Nest Monastery into a 2-day hiking journey through the Bumdra high camp, rated moderate to challenging passing through untouched meadows. It is a unique way to arrive at the iconic monastery!
The next five days will take you through the dramatic Druk Path trek with the snow-capped Mount Jumolhari as your scenic backdrop. Trek through remote lakes, beautiful monasteries, pine and rhododendron forests. On average, you will be walking approximately 5-6 hours a day, reaching to a maximum elevation point of 4,210 metre above sea level.
For those looking for a more moderate pursuit, we can change the 5-Day Druk Path Trek with a 3-Day Juniper Trail, walking on average 4-6 hours daily with highest elevation of 4,150 metre above sea level.
Your trek ends in the Bhutanese capital of Thimphu. You will have the chance to either take a rest or enjoy sightseeing to visit Centenary Farmers Market, National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Folk Heritage Museum, a stunning view from BBS Tower and see Bhutan's national animal in Takin Preserve.
After a night's rest in Thimphu, you will begin your cycling adventure to Dochu La pass. The ride traverses through 22km, gaining a total elevation of 670 metre to 3,050 metre above sea level. After a refreshment break at the scenic pass, our support vehicle will drive you down into the beautiful valley of Punakha, where you can enjoy a short hike through rice fields into Chimmi Lhakhang.
The next morning, enjoy an adrenaline-pumping white water rafting through the river. Afterwards, enjoy a pinic lunch by the river before visiting the impressive Punakha Dzong.
For those with more days, Punakha is an excellent base for many trekking activities, including the Giligang Trail, the Butterfly Trail and a hike to Hokatsho Lake.
Today, we drive you back to Paro. In the afternoon, if time and energy permits, you can enjoy a 15km biking through the farmland of Paro valley and learn about the rural Bhutanese way of life. Enjoy the night at leisure before you fly back home the next morning.
