Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

The climate in New Zealand is incredibly pleasant, with warm and balmy summers and cold crisp winter months with wonderful clear, blue skies. The warmer high-season months of November to April are perfect for outdoor exploration. The colder months of June to August are the best time to ski.

Both North and South Islands are drier on the east coast, rather than on the west, where mountain ranges act as a trap for the moisture-rich winds from the Tasman Sea. It is also worth remembering that it is usually a few degrees cooler on the South Island than the North Island and as New Zealand has a maritime climate, the weather can change rapidly.

To start planning your holiday to The Lindis

Nestled in the pristine Ahuriri Valley in New Zealand’s South Island, you will find The Lindis. New Zealand’s newest luxury lodge has been created for you to unwind and relax while taking in the surrounding idyllic setting.

Epitomising the Kiwi notion of “manaakitanga” meaning hospitality, The Lindis has been designed to be a place where guests can relax and unwind in nature, slowing down from the fast-pace of everyday life whilst being enclosed by pristine wilderness.

Encircled by a rugged landscape of wetlands, tussock land and mountains and adjacent to three conservation parks, The Lindis not only provides guests with exceptional views both day and night but has also been architecturally designed to mirror the landscape it resides in. With a rolling, undulating timber roof reflecting the neutral tones of the environment, The Lindis’ design offers a sense of seclusion and privacy, far from prying eyes of the masses - a secret lodge built to define the essence of wild luxury.

Offering two master suites and three lodge suites featuring contemporary furnishings and luxury amenities the décor at The Lindis exudes bespoke quality. Rooms feature panoramic windows allowing guests uninterrupted views of the landscape beyond whilst individual fire-places and faux- fur throws create a unique sense of warmth and comfort.

Food and wine at The Lindis is equally as impressive and the daily menu’s pay homage to the wide variety of local produce the Central Otago and Canterbury region of the South Island is known for.

Activities from the Lindis are abundant. Located near to one of New Zealand’s most renowned fly-fishing areas a wide variety of fishing-related activities are available whilst guests can also partake in horse trekking rides, cycling tours, and exhilarating 4WD tours.  The abundant wine producing region of Central Otago borders the Ahuriri Valley so vineyard visits are possible to arrange whilst the adventure capital of Queenstown is only a short journey away.

In an ever fast moving and stressful world, The Lindis will give you the opportunity to slow down and enjoy the stillness of nature in modern, sophisticated luxury, all while enjoying Kiwi hospitality at its best.
