Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Lima’s weather is very temperate due to its proximity to the equator. Winters in Lima can be quite grey as a result of the humid climate. Through most of winter Lima is covered in a layer of clouds and a light drizzle, or ‘garúa’; average temperatures are around 15°C. The summer months of December to March tend to be sunny and temperatures average around 22°C, though they can go as high as 27°C. The humidity factor makes these seemingly mild temperatures feel more extreme.

An urban sanctuary in the middle of bustling Lima, Belmond Miraflores Park is the perfect option for a luxurious escape in the city. Set in the Miraflores district, a high end neighbourhood close to top tourist destinations, this property boasts rooms with expansive sea views and luxurious finishes. For breakfast lovers, enjoy the widespread offering each morning consisting of traditional products (prosciutto, ham, smoked cheeses, sausages, and terrific salmon), local specialities, bread station, fresh fruit, and "hot station" with fresh made omelettes.

This hotel is always a very safe bet for your accommodation in Lima, with the guaranteed classic Belmond service, you know you're in good hands! They have bikes you can take to venture out into the local area, or the cosy library area is a great place to hang out with a drink in hand. The open air rooftop pool really gives this place the wow factor - Mario Testino is rumoured to have photographed Kate Moss here!

The Belmond Miraflores Park is definitely my first choice for anyone looking for luxury accommodation in Lima. The hotel has been designed in an elegant style and has been recently refurbished, giving it a fresh, modern feel, whilst retaining its classic charms. The service is excellent, the rooftop pool has fantastic views over the ocean and the food served in the hotel's Tragaluz restaurant is delicious and exquisitely presented.

Many people don't give Lima a second glance, which is a shame as it has some of the most exciting cuisine in the world, great museums and a buzzing nightlife. The Belmond Miraflores Park is the top place in town, and is sleek and well-run. I really liked the cocktail bar where you can get a mean pisco sour, and rooftop breakfasts overlooking the Pacific Ocean are great. The position is also excellent, with plenty of great restaurants and shops nearby.
