Nakasendo Trail - Magome to Tsumago

Hike a section along the Nakasendo Trail that ran along the Kiso Valley, connecting Tokyo and Kyoto during the Edo Period. Today, you will be passing through the well-maintained section of the trail from Magome to Tsumago.
From Nakatsugawa station, take a taxi to Magome town. Start in Magome and hike up the picturesque Magome Pass before meadering downhill through the woods, passing through waterfalls before reaching Tsumago village. One of the best preserved Edo style architectural town along the trail, Tsumago takes you back in time into ancient Japan as you wander along the main street.
Descend the same way and take a taxi back to Nakatsugawa Station before taking a train ride to Matsumoto.
