Yin Xu & Museum of Chinese Character
Anyang, Henan, Shanxi and Shandong, China
After visiting the Yin Xu with its oracle bone inscriptions, we head to the Museum of Chinese Character and Yuan Lin (Yuanshikai Tomb).
Serving as the ancient capital city of Shang Dynasty approximately 1600-1046 BC, Anyang is also the birthplace of Chinese characters.
We start the day by visiting Yin Xu, which had been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you will see the oracle bone inscriptions unearthed at Anyang's Yin Ruins, which is the earliest evidence of written language in China.
Afterwards, visit the Museum of Chinese Character. Learn how the Chinese characters had evolved since the ancient times and how they were printed in the past.
Located at the outskirts of Anyang, Yuan Lin was built to honour Yuan Shikai, the renowned statesman and army officer circa the Qing Dynasty.
